CSK: ‘Left 10-15 Runs Behind’, Coach Stephen Fleming Told The Reason For CSK’s Defeat

'Left 10-15 runs behind', coach Stephen Fleming told the reason for CSK's defeat

CSK had to face its second consecutive defeat in the match held on Friday in IPL 2024. SRH won the match with 6 wickets and 2 overs remaining.

Chennai Super Kings have faced defeat for the second consecutive match in IPL 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated them by 6 wickets and registered victory. After the match, CSK coach Stephen Fleming explained the reason for the defeat.

Fleming believes that CSK had to pay the price for scoring low against SRH. At the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, the team captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad posted a scoreboard of 165/5. In response, SRH achieved the target with 6 wickets and 2 overs remaining.

During this, Shivam Dube (45), Ajinkya Rahane (35) and Ravindra Jadeja (31) played important innings for CSK. But SRH batsmen declared this score to be even smaller.

He bowled well: Fleming

“The first 10 overs, I thought we were in the game,” Fleming said in the post-match press conference. But credit goes to the way Hyderabad bowled in the last 5 overs. Trying to reach 180-190, we got stuck. Possibly later on you drop a few, but we still think it was possible to reach a score of 180-190. Hyderabad really restricted us in the last 5 or 6 overs.”

While counter-batting, HRH’s Abhishek Sharma scored 37 runs in 12 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes. After this Markram played an inning of 50 runs in 36 balls. Which completely took CSK out of the game.

CSK remained behind by 15 runs

“We were probably 15 runs behind,” Fleming said. We knew the first 10 overs would be difficult, so we had to be positive in our defence. I don’t think Moeen Ali’s dropped catch in the first over had a huge impact on the game, although you would want your team to take advantage of every opportunity that comes its way. We coped very well. Once you get the right pace to bowl, it was a difficult wicket to play on.”
