'Our Batting Is Very...' Shubman Gill Explains The Reason For The Bad Defeat Against DC

GT vs DC: In the match against Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans scored the lowest score of IPL 2024. Shubman Gill has given the reasons behind the defeat.

Gujarat Titans had to face a shameful defeat in the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The team led by Shubman Gill posted the lowest score of the season, which Delhi Capitals achieved easily. After the crushing defeat, Captain Gill explained the main reason behind the defeat and accepted the poor performance.

Gujarat Titans, who came to bat first, collapsed for just 89 runs in 17.3 overs. GT’s batsmen kept getting out one after the other on the lines of ‘Tu Chal Main Aaya’, in which 8 batsmen could not even touch the score of 10. Rashid Khan (31) scored the maximum runs for the team.

Captain Shubman Gill was out first on a personal score of 8 runs. Gill, while talking to the broadcaster after the match, attributed the defeat to poor batting and shot selection.

Shubman said, “Our batting was very average and it is important to move forward and make a strong comeback. The wicket was fine, if you look at some of the players who were out, it had nothing to do with the pitch. I would say poor shot selection.”

GT vs DC: Gill taunted

Delhi Capitals achieved the target of 90 runs in just 8.5 overs and won by 6 wickets. Gill admitted that on this score only a miracle could give the team victory.

He said, “When the opposition team is chasing 89 runs, unless someone takes a double hat-trick, the opposition team is always in the game. This is only the halfway point of the season for us, we have won 3 and hopefully we will win 5-6 more out of the next 7 like the last few years.”
