IPL 2023 is just around the corner, and cricket fans are eagerly waiting to see their favorite players take the field. However, injuries have hit some of the teams hard, and several players have been ruled out of the tournament due to various injuries. Let’s take a look at the list of players who will miss IPL 2023 due to injury.
The pace spearhead of Mumbai Indians and the Indian cricket team, Jasprit Bumrah, has been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to a shoulder injury. He underwent surgery and is expected to be out of action for some time. His absence will be a big blow to the Mumbai Indians’ pace department.
New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson was supposed to play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023. However, he has been ruled out of the tournament due to a foot injury.
Another pacer who will miss IPL 2023 due to injury is Prasidh Krishna. He was expected to play for Rajasthan Royals, but he underwent surgery and is unlikely to feature in the tournament.
Delhi Capitals also received a blow just a week after the auction with their skipper and India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant suffering injuries in a car accident. DC will now need two roles to fill when the season starts as Pant is expected to miss action for a long time.
Shreyas Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders), Reece Topley (RCB), Josh Hazlewood (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Sarfaraz Khan (Delhi Capitals), and Anrich Nortje (Delhi Capitals) are some of the players who have picked up injuries recently.
In addition, some of the English players like Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone of Punjab Kings are also recovering from injuries and it is unclear when they will be fit to play. Some of the other Test stars like Ben Stokes and Joe Root could also cut short their campaigns with an eye on the Ashes. Moreover, the World Test Championship final is scheduled just a few days after the IPL 2023 final, and some of the India and Australia players could also pull out early to prepare for the all-important match.
