Naseem is offering support for Naveen-Ul-Haq
Leicestershire secured the temporary services of Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah for the beginning of the Vitality Blast. Naseem is offering support for Naveen-ul-Haq of Afghanistan, which is currently performing for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL playoffs. Naseem was supposed to be in England on Tuesday to order to be qualified to make Leicestershire’s Blast debut against Lancashire on Thursday. We had to make an impulsive choice since Naveen was in the IPL play-offs, and we are overjoyed to have discovered someone of Naseem’s level, according to Leicestershire Director of Cricket Claude Henderson. He has already shown his capacity to compete at a high level in T20 cricket, and we expect to see him soon wearing a Leicestershire jersey.
Naseem played for Gloucestershire at the Blast
The first two matches of Leicestershire’s season are against Lancashire on the road and Warwickshire at home, with a trip to Worcestershire on Monday following. It is possible that Naveen would miss all three rounds if Lucknow advances to Sunday’s IPL championship game.
Last season, Naseem played for Gloucestershire at the Blast and claimed five wickets in three matches. Welsh Fire signed as well to take part in the Hundred, but he resigned due to responsibilities overseas. I’m honored to be representing the Foxes team for the beginning of the Vitality Blast. Naseem said: I am excited to get to know my teammates and to encourage Leicestershire in sporting achievements.
