Perfect coincidence! In their opening IPL over, Arjun and Sachin both let KKR to score five runs

Almost ten years after his father Sachin played his final game for the team in the IPL 2013 season, Arjun Tendulkar made his Indian Premier League debut for the Mumbai Indians on Sunday.

The coincidences, however, go beyond that.In his first IPL over against the Kolkata Knight Riders with the new ball, Arjun Tendulkar conceded five runs.In 2009, Sachin Tendulkar let up five runs from his opening IPL over for MI against the same opposition.

Captain Rohit Sharma, who had received his first Test cap from Sachin Tendulkar, gave Arjun his MI cap.Rohit Sharma has been replaced by Arjun in the Mumbai starting XI. Rohit is absent from this game since he is ill.

In seven first-class matches, Arjun, who is 23 years old, has claimed 12 wickets. Eight wickets have been taken by the left-arm bowler in seven List A games. In nine T20 games, Arjun has 12 wickets to his name.
