Not only did they suffer their first defeat of the season against Gujarat Titans, but their captain Sanju Samson was also fined Rs 12 lakh by the BCCI for maintaining a slow over-rate during the match. RR vs GT: Rajasthan Royals’ first defeat

Rajasthan Royals, who made a strong start to the season, were defeated by Gujarat Titans in a close encounter at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. Royals scored 196/3 due to the performance of Riyan Parag (76 runs) and Sanju Samson (68 not out).

Sanju Samson fined for slow over rate

Captain Sanju Samson was fined for his team’s slow over rate during the match. This is Royals’ first fine of the season in relation to the minimum over rate as per the IPL code of conduct. Samson was slapped with a hefty fine of Rs 12 lakh.
