After the latest CSK vs. Kolkata Knight Riders IPL match at Eden Gardens on Sunday, actor Juhi Chawla lauded former India captain and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In August 2020, Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket and has since limited his participation to the Indian Premier League.

When the audience started screaming “Dhoni Dhoni” during the IPL match  Juhi Chawla responded

Juhi stated in an interview following the game that it was assumed that the sea of purple in the stands would only be supporting the Shah Rukh Khan-owned team since Kolkata was KKR’s home field. While KKR fans wearing purple T-shirts dominated the stadium’s full stands, many spectators wearing CSK jerseys also showed Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his squad the same support after they put on a thrilling performance against KKR. Kolkata suffered a rare home loss in the IPL this year after Chennai successfully defended a sizable target. By 49 runs, CSK defeated KKR.

“When we saw people cheering for MS Dhoni, we believed we had arrived in Chennai” Juhi said

Juhi Chawla, a co-owner of KKR, was delighted to see the fans showing their support for Dhoni and his group. We aspire to replicate CSK’s performance in our upcoming game. Since so many people were supporting CSK, we believed we had arrived in Chennai.
